Our Founder
Dr. Leonard Bley
Dr. Bley, the founder of Laser and Microsurgery Institute and NY Lasik Center, is internationally recognized as a leader in the fields of cataract and refractive surgery. He is one of a very select group of surgeons offering LASIK vision correction as well as LASIK alternatives such as EVO ICL implantation and clear-lens extraction. Dr. Bley is one of the pioneers of LASIK laser vision correction: he has been involved in refractive surgical field studies since 1989, prior to LASIK’S formal approval by the FDA.
Dr. Bley has personally performed over 100,000 cataract and refractive procedures. He is one of a select handful of surgeons in the country performing laser cataract surgery as well as implantation of premium intraocular lenses. These lenses reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses after cataract surgery, allowing the patient to significantly reduce their dependence on glasses. The new laser cataract system allows for a level of precision previously unattainable to cataract surgeons.
