Dr. Kruglyakov grew up in Russia, where she pursued her passion for medical eye care. She graduated with honors from Kemerovo State Medical School in 1979 and went on to complete an equivalent three residency in ophthalmology in 1985 from the State Institute in Professional Education in Novokuznetsk, Russia. Dr. Kruglyakov completed her PhD equivalent degree in Clinical Physiology in 1990 from National Research and Technology Institute “Eye Microsurgery” in Moscow, Russia. While obtaining her PhD, she was a leading researcher for “Non-capsular posterior chamber correction of aphakia with silicone IOL,” a research project which was the predecessor for today’s advanced IOL technology used in modern cataract surgery.
Dr. Kruglyakov attended school in the US at State University of New York College of Optometry (SUNY) where she graduated in 2004 with a doctorate of optometry degree. She joined NY LASIK in 2005 where she performs comprehensive eye exams. She has a special interest in various eye conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She provides pre and post-operative care to patients undergoing cataract, retina, glaucoma and refractive surgeries.
