Laurey G. Mogil, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist. She practices comprehensive ophthalmology and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma at KLM Eye MDs in Brooklyn, New York. She has an extensive educational background with over 30 years experience.
Dr. Mogil earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in 1976. She graduated from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1980.
She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at NYU and The Manhattan VA Hospital in 1981. She was a resident in Ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center from 1981 through 1984. She served as the Chief Resident of the Department of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center from 1984-1985.
Dr. Mogil completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at Mount Sinai Medical Center from 1984-1985. She has held the position of an Assistant Clinical Professor at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine ever since 1985.
She is one of the founding partners of Kochman Lebowitz and Mogil MDs LLP. She is also one of the founding partners of Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center.
Dr. Mogil is a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of many organizations, including The American Glaucoma Society, The New York Glaucoma Society, The New York County Medical Society, The New York State Medical Society and Women in Ophthalmology.
She continues to teach residents and medical students at Mount Sinai-NY Eye and Ear Hospital.
Dr. Mogil has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award, Vitals’ Patient Choice Award for Most Compassionate Doctor, Cornell University’s Outstanding Alumni Award, and Midwood High School’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
